What is double spacing?

  1. I was looking at what sort of things agents look for in a manuscript and it said: Single-space your query letter, and keep it to one page. Double-space your manuscript and synopsis.
What is the difference between single-spacing and double-spacing?

    this would be single spacing

“Single-space your query letter, and keep it to one page. Double-space your mauscript and synopsis.” just like how you typed it earlier.

Double spacing would mean pushing enter and having a space between each line like.

“Single-space your query letter, and keep it to one page.

    Double-space your manuscript and synopsis”

Normally, if you use microsoft word you can go to Format and then Paragraph, and then it has a section with Spacing and it gives you the option to make it automatically double spaced.
