Being able to control your desires and restrain your urges will keep you from harming your mind and your body.

Having goals laid out will increase your likelihood of being able to overcome the challenges you encounter, and you will feel good about yourself once you do. Start each morning believing that it will be better that day than it was the day before. Put the effort that is needed to accomplish this. Try to improve yourself constantly. Challenge yourself to improve on something that you did yesterday.

You should not be selfish and only do what you want with no regards to others, though you do need to take full responsibility for your happiness. Figure out what is really important to you and focus on those things in your life. You should be happier and more peaceful if you know what matters to you, and concentrate on these things. Discover what is standing between you and your goals. Figuring this out is daunting for most people. Once you can pinpoint your own weaknesses, it is easier to accept them, act on them, and change them. When you take each area and take action to improve it, the path to a better future is much smoother.

Always be ready to write down any ideas that you may have at any time or location. Carrying a small notepad with you everywhere can be a great idea. Write your thoughts down when they occur, and then you can refer back to them later when the time is right.
