Quilts may be new or old, in excellent shape, or well used. They will need to have a sleeve for hanging. Please bring information about your quilts, such as pattern name, year made, who quilt was made for and if it was for a special occasion, and anything else that will tell the quilt's story. The quilts will be hung on Friday, August 1. Call the library at 652-3561, for more information. Consumer's service station reopens as Raceway Fuel The former Consumer's Fuel Association at 118 East Shurbet in Lockney reopened last week as Raceway Fuels, Inc. The full service station was purchased by Roger and Andy Stapp of Lockney. Consumer's Fuel Association, which was organized in 1926, closed the station in early July. Little has changed since the station reopened. "Nothing has changed except the ownership," manager Lyndall Stapp said. The station plans to offer all of its old services including tire sales, flat fixing, and all types of fuel. They will provide in-town pick-up and delivery for oil changes. "Our services are still ag related," Lyndall said. "We will also continue to do transport deliveries to farms." "We appreciate all the business we can get," Roger said. "Our goal is to keep this place open and provide a service to the community." Alfred Martinez, who worked for Consumer's for over 12 years, will work alongside Lyndall. According to Lyndall, business is growing slowly as word gets out that the station is operating again. "Business has picked up every day," Lyndall said. "People are starting to notice that we're open." Raceway Fuels is open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. "We need some time to get it on its feet," Roger said. The owners say they are looking forward to the opportunity to grow. "We hope to branch out," Lyndall said. "We would like to venture into Livestock supplies, but that remains to be seen down the road."

"We need to take time to enjoy the simple pleasures of life and our County Fair gives us this opportunity." Admission to the Fair is free, however there will be a $5.00 fee for admission to the Saturday night entertainment by Jimmy Burson and "Texas in the Swing".
